Back-to-School Gardening

(Image)

In case you missed it, there was a great article in the Santa Barbara Independent about schools from Lompoc, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria sprouting up school gardens in an effort to teach students about healthy eating and growing organic food. Not only are school gardens in conjunction with learning nutrition, they are able to understand and appreciate the time and effort it takes to make the food they might take for granted on a daily basis. Check it out and urge your children's teachers to involve their classes in gardening!
