(Photo Source)I think the best activities for children are those that are both fun and educational. The Ty Warner Sea Center on Stearns Wharf easily fulfills both of these criteria. Aside from the exhibit on camouflage marine life, life size models of California Grey Whales and the 1,500 gallon crawl-through tide pool tank, the coolest attraction is definitely the live shark touch pool. Yes, you read that right. The Center offers a live shark touch pool. But wait! Don't worry! You won't be petting Jaws anytime soon. The Center educators assist guests in coming face-to-face with tiny and harmless "bite size" sharks that are found in our very own Santa Barbara Channel while educating them on shark facts. For example: Did you know the likelihood of shark attack is 1 in 3,700,000? Interesting stuff.
