Don't miss Depot Day this Sunday! With rides, a chicken barbeque dinner, musical entertainment and a silent auction, there is no doubt it will be a fun event to take your kids to. Event hours are 11am to 4pm on Sunday, September 27th.
Located at 300 North Los Carneros Rd in Goleta, The Goleta Depot featuring the South Coast Railroad Museum is one of Goleta's very own nationally registered historic sites. For kids studying California History (4th grade), the Goleta Depot provides a hands on way to couple Goleta's local history with that of the Golden State. Yet, with rides, a caboose and handcar, the Goleta Depot is both fun and educational for children of all ages!
Built in 1901, the Goleta Depot first served as a stop along SP's Coast Line connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles. In 1983, it became a museum and historic landmark. Today, it boasts a museum, rides, walking tours and a variety of special events year round.
