(Photo)It's officially September in Santa Barbara, and I'm sure you're all enjoying this late summer heat. A great way to get out in the sun is by exploring the great Pacific abyss. Or, in my case, taking the family out to kayak around Sterns Wharf.
Not only is kayaking great exercise, but it's a fun and adventuresome deviation from sitting poolside. I've found Paddle Sports of Santa Barbara to offer an amazing kayak tour of the Downtown Santa Barbara Harbor and Wharf. Friendly tour guides first outfit your group in life vests and then lead a tour through the harbor and out to the tip of the wharf. Here, seals float on buoys within reach of the kayak caravan. You may even be lucky enough to spot dolphins like my group was...
